The Tactical Scorpion Gear AR500 Steel Shooting Range Target 3″ x 1/4″ Gong is equipped with two 1/2″ mounting holes with thick ears to take hits without breaking.  Hang from both holes for more stability or hang it from a single hole. 

Tactical Scorpion Gear uses a CNC laser cutting table to produce of all their AR500 products.  This assures that the metal stays strong during the manufacturing process so that only the highest quality AR500 targets are produced.

Most AR500 is cut with plasma cutters as they are inexpensive and relatively small compared to other methods.  Plasma cutting cuts slowly and puts a lot of heat into the steel (a submerged plasma cutting machine is no better).  This excess heat can result in excessive chipping and damage near the cut edge during use and can easily shatter when shot.  Plasma cutting generates large amounts of heat that is deposited into the target, softening its edges. The heat-affected zone (HAZ) generated by plasma cutting is the largest out of the most commonly used methods for cutting abrasion resistant steel.

1/4” AR500 steel targets work great for the following calibers

• .22 Rim Fire, 9mm, .38 Spl, .44 Spl, .45acp – 8 yards
• .357, .40 SW, .44 mag – 12 yards
• Shotgun w/ lead bird shot – 12 yards
• Shotgun w/ std velocity 00 buck – 20 yards
• Shotgun w/ std velocity slug -50 yards
